Journey To The East is Chengdu’s only authentic international jazz band. It formed as its members found each other in Chengdu through their shared passion for jazz music. After playing for a time as a trio，namely for various swing dance events and for jazz enthusiasts around Chengdu, singer Darina joined to round out the band.
东游记乐队是成都唯一的真正的国际爵士乐队。它的形成是因为乐队的每一个成员有着对爵士音乐非凡的热情，因为爵士，他们彼此找到有共同理想的伙伴。在乐队组合前期的一段时间以三重奏演出为主，参与和主导了各种摇摆舞活动与成都的爵士爱好者，决定加入歌手代丽娜，让乐队更有力量更完整。
Journey To The East’s mission is to bring the spontaneous power of real improvisation and high-level musical skill, combined with the complex elegance of jazz music’s traditional harmony and rhythm, to the ordinary people of China. Through a repertoire of well-known jazz standards and jazz-flavored pop songs, people who don’t understand jazz well can have an enjoyable experience connecting with a type of music which is still mostly unfamiliar throughout China.
东游记乐队的任务是给中国朋友带来真正即兴的爵士音乐、爵士即兴的当下力量和高级音乐技术，结合爵士乐的复杂传统和声与节奏的文雅性，演奏著名经典的爵士歌曲与爵士味道流行歌曲的曲目，让普通的中国人也能听懂并享受爵士。

Elad Sobol
萨克斯 Saxophone， Los Angeles, USA 美国洛杉矶
萨克斯演奏家，出生于美国加利福尼亚州的洛杉矶，从小热爱音乐，11岁开始打鼓，17岁开始练习吉他和钢琴，22岁开始吹萨克斯。2006年进入加州大学圣克鲁兹学院主修打击乐和萨克斯。2010年进入圣何塞州立大学进修音乐教育，并获得公立学校教学资格证书，从师于George Marsh, Bruce Becker, Ray Brown, Dave Wolford, Rick Rossi等著名音乐专家。在美国和中国演出各种爵士，摇滚，流行，布鲁斯音乐。现为四川音乐学院爵士系外籍教授。
Showed great passion for music since he was little, and started to play drums at age 11, guitar age 17, piano age 17, saxophone age 22. Studied music, majoring in percussion, at University of California, Santa Cruz, B.A. Music 2006.Studied music education at San Jose State University, California Teaching Credential Public School Certification 2010. Studied privately with notable music educators: George Marsh, Bruce Becker, Ray Brown, Dave Wolford, Rick Rossi. Performing in various jazz, rock, pop, blues bands throughout the US and China. He is currently working as a music professor in the Jazz Department of Sichuan Conservatory, Chengdu.
Mark Guttenplan
钢琴Piano, New York, USA美国纽约
大学毕业后进入波士顿伯克利音乐学院进修2年，学习爵士、音乐理论和演奏。1979年开始环球音乐旅行并演奏，有海上钢琴师之称，广涉爵士三重奏、蓝调、海滩音乐、雷鬼、重摇滚、经典摇滚和各种流行音乐，直到1985年重新回到他最爱的钢琴，并为Carnival Cruise Lines的开场演奏近14年。由此，他也得以充分自由发挥自己的音乐天赋，以往的音乐经历也使得钢琴独奏展现出一种极少见的丰富感。Mark最近还发布了CD专辑，其中包含他在30多年演奏生涯中的经典曲目。最近3年他在成都演出很多，包括每个星期在老书虫和Niccolo酒店演出。
After graduating from university, he attended Berklee College of Music in Boston for 2 years,where he studied Jazz arranging, Music theory, and Performance. Since 1979 Mark has taken to the road and has performed all over the world, first with Top 40 Bands, then Jazz trios, Rhythm and Blues, Beach Music, Reggae, Hard Rock, Classic Rock, FM Rock and almost every variation of Pop Music until in 1985 he return to his first love - the Acoustic Piano!Worked as a Cocktail Pianist for Carnival Cruise Lines for almost 14 years. He brought with him upon his return to the Solo Piano a wealth of styles, experiences, approaches, and most important, a Repertoire rarely seen in a solo pianist. He has recently released his first CD, which is a culmination of over 30 years as a working musician. In the last 3 years, he has played all over Chengdu, including weekly at The Bookworm and Niccolo Hotel, with bands, singers and as a solo pianist.
Jack Greminger: Drums
架子鼓.Los Angeles, USA 美国洛杉矶
1987毕业LONG BEACH学院（加州），然后开始在美国当专业鼓手，SHERMAN FERGUSON有名鼓手的学生。2009年到了香港，在香港的六年中曾经担任各钟爵士乐队的专业鼓手，经常参与各种音乐会和特别活动。最近为成都VINOTECA红酒吧固定的大爵士乐队工作，他也是私人架子鼓老师，自由专业乐手。
Graduated from Long Beach City College 1987 and began playing professionally in the US，studied with legendary drummer Sherman Ferguson. Moved to Hong Kong in 2009 and played professionally for six years in a variety of jazz groups for concerts and special events. Most recently worked in the house band in Vinoteca in Chengdu, Chengdu Big Band, private drum instructor and professional for hire for special events.
Darina Matveychuk
代丽娜，Singer 歌手，俄罗斯 Russia
6岁开始在专业音乐学校学习唱歌和钢琴，在很多专业比赛中获得冠军。从俄罗斯大学毕业以后，Darina 选择来到中国，考入哈尔滨师范大学,，此后毕业于心理学专业，拿到硕士学位。曾经参与黑龙江电视台都市频道 “公主与梦想”、文艺频道“全民大明星”栏目。除了唱歌以外，她在业余时间还做平面模特，教授肚皮舞。
At the age of 6 she started at a professional music conservatory studying singing and piano performance, winning prizes in various music performance competitions. After graduating from University, she earned a Chinese government scholarship to study in Haarbin Normal University, where she completed a Master’s degree in Psychology. In China, she has also appeared on the TV Programs “Princesses & Dreams” and “Stars From Around The World”in Heilongjiang. Besides singing, she also works as a model and belly dancer.
