一年中上海最美丽的春日里，我们将迎来两位来自北京Swing的摇摆舞资深老师，Josh和Leru在5月5日、5月6日两天给我们带来Balboa workshop。Josh来自美国，Leru来自俄罗斯，两位老师是Swing Beijing非常资深的Balboa舞老师，长期在北京教授Balboa，而在中国甚至世界各地，都有他们教授的workshop。所以我们非常有幸能够邀请到他们让上海的舞者一起感受Balboa的魅力，一起来学习Balboa吧！

很多跳摇摆舞的朋友在舞会上碰到特别快的音乐时候经常知难而退，也许比较快还能跳跳Charleston，fast lindy 但是要是再快，就好像没有办法了。快速的lindy 当然可以让人兴奋，但是当音乐超级快的时候，如果仍旧想优雅的在那里跳舞，如果音乐快速，舞池拥挤，仍旧不想错过舞蹈，那Balboa舞就是最好的选择了。别人被快速的音乐已经折磨的气喘吁吁，而你依旧不慌不忙，不紧不慢的在节拍上轻松自如的舞蹈，因为你会跳Balboa舞！ Balboa舞就是这么游刃有余，这么从容优雅。
Balboa舞对领舞和跟舞的能力要求比较高，因为在速度比较快的时候依然能够给明确的信号，接受信号，都需要技巧。看上去从容不迫，但是两人之间又有着很多connection，不停的体会着领舞和跟舞的乐趣，这就是Balboa。Balboa和Lindy hop真的是近亲了。很多Balboa的脚步, 领舞跟舞技巧在Lindy hop中也很通用，所以学好Balboa对你的lindy hop水平的进步一定帮助非常大。

本次我们的Balboa workshop安排在5月5日周六和5月6日周日两天的下午。周六4小时课时从基础开始，周日4小时课时的进阶课，总共8个小时workshop。

老师介绍
Josh
Josh来自美国，在北京生活已经有15年。他从2006年就开始学习摇摆舞。从2008年到现在，Josh一直在教授各种摇摆舞，包括lindy hop, Balboa 以及Blues。他曾经在世界各地的摇摆舞活动中进行表match演和比赛，包括在中国，在亚洲很多国家以及在欧洲。在舞蹈上，他有他自己独特的风格，在教学上，他是一位非常耐心的老师，经常在课堂上会给每个同学一些自己的建议和关照。
Leru
Leru 来自俄罗斯。她在爵士舞方面有接近13年的经验，涉及Balboa, lindy hop, Charleston, Authentic Jazz 以及踢踏舞和Burlesque. 她是复古爵士舞方面的专家。
Leru 曾经活跃在莫斯科的摇摆舞界，在那里比赛，表演，教授摇摆舞。现在她是北京摇摆的组织者之一，曾经在若干电视节目中表演过。Leru 积极的参与各种摇摆舞活动，比赛以及教学无论在亚洲还是欧洲。她曾经赢得超过10个摇摆舞各种比赛的名次。
Balboa workshop on May 5th 6th organized by Downtown Swing
We are so glad to invite Josh&Leru two experienced Swing dance teachers from Swing Beijing to Shanghai to give us a Balboa workshop on May 5th and 6th. Josh is from U.S and Leru is from Russia and both of them have so many years of swing dance teaching and performing experience and they have been teaching Balboa in Beijing now. So don’t miss the chance to learn from them.
What is balboa ?
Balboa is danced to swing music, primarily big-band swing music of the 1930s and 1940s to artists such as Chick Webb, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington at tempos of about 180 to 250 beats per minute. It is also danced to other types of swing music, including small combos and gypsy jazz (e.g., Django Reinhardt). Because the basic step takes up such a small space, Balboa can also be danced to fast music (over 300 beats per minute). The dance can also be drawn out and danced to slower tempos, when it is known as slow Balboa. In the modern swing dancing era, thousands of dancers continue to enjoy Balboa alongside other swing dances such as Lindy Hop and Charleston.Balboa Workshop by Josh&Leru

Teacher introducrion
Josh
A 15-year resident of Beijing where he first began learning swing in 2006, Josh has been teaching a variety of partnered jazz dances such as Lindy Hop, Balboa and Blues since 2008. He has competed and performed both in China and abroad, including many Asian countries and a few European ones. He has his own unique style when it comes to dancing, and is incredibly patient teacher that pays a lot attention to details, and always finds time for individual tips for each student in this class.
Leru
Originally from Russia, Leru has nearly 13 years of experience in a range of Jazz-era dances, including Lindy Hop, Charleston and Authentic Jazz, tap and even burlesque! She is also an expert in Jazz Era culture, including the performance styles and dresses from 1900-1950s, which she incorporates into her dance.
Leru left Moscow where she was teaching, performing and competing and moved to Beijing over ten years ago, and now teaches Swing dance and is one of the main organizers of Swing events in Beijing, and appeared in several TV programs. She choreographs and directs entire full-scale productions with her own dance troupe.
Leru is also active promoting and participating in Swing events in the rest of Asia and Europe, teaching and performing with over 10 solo and couple titles to her name.
Downtown Swing
是位于上海，由小星和Lucy联合发起的摇摆舞组织，我们的组织致力于摇摆舞和复古文化的推广。我们组织每周二、五的Swing Kids舞会以及其他摇摆舞相关的活动，并定期开设摇摆舞的常规课以及Workshop，欢迎加入我们！
Downtown Swing is a swing dance organization located in Shanghai and is co-founded by Stan and Lucy. We are devoted to the promotion of swing dance and vintage culture. We have our regular weekly swing dance party - Swing Kids Party every Tuesday and Friday and also we have swing dance regular class with our level system. Also we organize other workshop and swing dance activity and event as well. Welcome to join Downtown Swing.
