来自瑞士的No Square成立于1994 年7 月，乐队成员由萨克斯、爵士钢琴、贝斯手和爵士鼓手四人组成。音乐家们吸收了传统元素，独立创作了以下九张专辑"The Fly"、"Green Apples"、"Empreintes"、"Live à la Case à Chocs"、"C¬estoù Doregon"、"Double Album"" Studio & Live"、"lePendu"、"Les Lois de l'éphèmère"、”Buenos Aires-Paris”。

The No Square jazz quartet comesfrom Switzerland and in this concert, co-hosted by the Embassy of Switzerland,they add their musical expertise to a celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relationsbetween our two countries.

The quartet was founded in July 1994, withMatthieu Durmarque on saxophones, Matthieu Roffé on piano, André Hahne on bass,and Alexandre Ambroziak on drums. This intensely creative group has touredextensively throughout the world and produced eight albums. No Square has justcome back from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and are currently completing a19 city tour of China, Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand presenting theirlatest album Les Lois de L'Ephémère.

Square was formerly known as No SquareTrio, (Michael Fleiner, André Hahne, Yannick Oppliger). However, after thetrio’s fruitful encounter with saxophonist Daniel Küffer, they became aquartet. The years of work, complicity, and friendship between these musicianscan be felt in their music.
