《Rock ’n Roll Will Never Let You Down》MV
THE ROYAL ENGINEERS from Utrecht, The Netherlands, are known for their catchy pop songs injected with a big dose of Rock and Roll. Inspired by the analog sound of the 70’s, they manage to create a show filled with groovy and original pop rock, putting smiles on the entire audience’s faces. In 2016 the band played shows all over The Netherlands, released their debut EP ‘One’ and did several gigs on national radio and television. In January 2017, The Royal Engineers played their first tour in the United States, during the Sundance Film festival in Utah, and recorded a music video for their latest release: ‘Hit It & Do It Again’. They’ve recently performed their single on Dutch national television (De Wereld Draait Door).
Rene Geelhoed: Keys, Vocals
Rens Ouburg: Guitar, Vocals
Butet Tamba: Percussion, Vocals
Rob den Tuinder: Bass, Vocals
Michiel Buijsse: Drums
Rarely is a music genre so watered down as the pure pop which has left its mark on many generations. Originally bubbling, swirling and a little rebellious, now often flat and meaningless. The Royal Engineers bring the genre back to its source, the hurricane that occurs on stage, does not stop until every visitor is completely blown away. The Utrecht band has built its own repertoire full of catchy pop songs, a little 70’s but with both feet firmly in the 21st century.
The Royal Engineers opened for A Polaroid View and they also headlined in De Mezz (one of the biggest venues in the Netherlands). The Royal Engineers manage to get everyone on their feet. The fact that everyone in this band has a very strong vocal range, keeps the energy high and makes us even a bigger fan.
According to the website of The Royal Engineers, pop music has become dull and meaningless. By releasing this album, they show us the only correct answer.
Because meaningful is definitely one word to describe this beauty! ‘Rock ’n Roll will never let you down’ is a record filled with exciting and outstanding compositions. It has a variety of sounds, but nothing is too much. Is it pop? Is it rock ’n roll? It doesn’t matter, because the most important thing is that The Royal Engineers gave pop music value again. This album is amazing, from beginning until end. If this band is just as outstanding live as it is on record, The Netherlands have just gained another amazing band.
This spring, The Royal Engineers will come to China for the very first time to have a 8-city-tour:
