HABIBI

Habibi is an American rock band from Brooklyn, New York. They are a blend of psychedelic rock and sixties girl group harmonies. Influenced by grunge, punk, hip-hop, and Motown, Habibi's sound—and bandmembers—meet somewhere in the middle.

The name Habibi means "my love," anArabic word vocalist Rahill Jamlifard grew up using in her Iranian family.

Since then the genre has shape-shifted, been exported to the US and turned into a brasher, laddier sound. But its originator has continued to explore new, spiritual frontiers.
